Working with people can be exhausting—especially when you’re a hairstylist juggling unpredictable personalities. One day, a wealthy client visited. She was polished, poised, and left without incident. Days later, she returned, distressed and crying. Her earrings were missing.
I checked behind the styling table—and there they were.
She rushed over, claimed them, and then surprised me. “They were on the floor,” she said. “I won’t wear them again. You can have them if you want.”
No explanation. Just a gift and a quick goodbye.

I still don’t know why she gave them to me. But they were stunning. So I kept them.
